"Kikka, I've brought a guest."
“Welcome back, you good for nothing, you didn’t trick some people to bring them here right?”
A red-haired woman in a waiter's uniform greeted Finn as he entered the inn with Arthur and the others.
Her mischievous smile on her freckled face conveys her friendly charm.
"You’re terrible, even though I brought a beautiful man and woman to this inn that doesn't have enough charming lady."
"I wonder if you can’t see the beautiful in front of you... but really, they're all beautiful!? How did you deceive them!?"
"I'm sorry everyone... this noisy person is the reason, it's our signboard girl."
“Hey, answer the question! How did you deceive them?”
"You’ve been saying I deceive them from a while ago, but I just invited them normally, right?"
"Huh? Yes, that's right. He didn't lie."
"...Really? What did he say?"
“I was told that it was a good inn with a cute poster girl. And this place is nicer than I imagined”
Kikka blushed her cheeks from the refreshing smile directed at her along with the lines that could be taken as pickup.
Finn stares at the two of them with his eyes and pouts his lips.
"Um~, Kikka~san? I was the one who praised you, and Arthur just agreed with it~"
"Fuun, is that so."
"Cold! Arthur as well, isn't it enough to have four wives?"
"Didn’t I just tell the truth?"
"Are you natural...? Is it calculated...?"
When he exaggeratedly looked up at the sky and sent his gaze to the women behind Arthur, a deep sigh returned with a look of resignation.
Since he was in the royal capital, there have been many men and women who fell for Arthur's admiration for miraculously reconciling the naivety of being raised in the countryside and the social skills of "be a gentleman" instilled in him by a lecturer in the royal castle.
"Because he is that kind of person."
"I gave up"
"You got used to it"
"Incurable disease"
Finn, who was half-joking, also flinched at the reaction of the women who had sunk into their resignation.
"You... what have you been up to..."
"It's a false charge!"
“Well, it would be nice if you weren’t deceived by this guy. There are 1 double room and 3 single rooms available, but is that fine?”
"……Yes, it is okay"
"Well then, welcome to Fleece-Inn , please write your name on the book here."
Prompted by Kikka, they register and pays at the counter and receives the keys.
Arthur and the others don't know the market price of the inn, but it doesn't look like it's too expensive compared to the price of the grilled skewers we ate earlier.
"Yes, it's enough for five people for five days. As long as you follow the basic manners, I won't go into too much detail, but remember a few things. Come and eat anytime. We'll give you a small discount if you're a guest who has a room. Also, although the room is small, there's a bath, or rather, a magic tool-style shower room, but you need to pay for the magic stones. Oh, but if you don't buy it from us, you can use your own magic stones or pour your own magic into it."
"alright"
“I don’t know exactly if you want an extension, but I would be happy if you could tell me early if you want to extend it.
"Understood, that should be fine."
"Really? That's good. The room is on the second floor, and the room number is written on the key."
"thank you"
“Why don’t you leave your luggage in the room? If you’re going to the guild, I can show you around.”
"Yes, please."
"Okay --- Kikka, is that Lloyd guy back?"
Kikka's body trembled and averted her gaze at Finn's casual question.
“Lloyd? Umm... I think he’s back... I think he said he’s going to clean up his room...?"
"Hmm... Well, if he stays in his room, it's fine."
Although Finn noticed Kikka's turmoil, he turned to face Arthur and the others without doing anything to pursue it on the spot.
“I will call my partner while everyone is putting their luggage down, so please gather in front of the entrance when you are ready.”
"I understand"
"Who wants a single room?"
"I like the room for two!"
"I'm fine with either"
Arthur and the others lively go upstairs together.
Looking at their backs, Finn whispered in a voice that the surroundings could not hear.
"What? What were you doing with Lloyd, leaving your work alone?"
"... it was just my mouth."
"That's mean of you... were you sucking his dick when I was desperately looking for customers?"
Hearing Finn's meaningful words, Kikka lowered her head with an expression that seemed unfaithful, but at the same time, she expected something.
"I know... I'm going to the room tonight..."
"Well, thanks as always."
Kikka frowned at Finn's unnatural attitude.
“It looks like you won’t be able to get your hands on these girls this time anyway, so you’re thinking of using me to your advantage. It’s a pity, if I had such a cool lover, you wouldn’t be the one I deal with.”
Finn raises the corners of his mouth ironically at Kikka's hated mouth.
"I can't put my hands on them...huh"
"... stop messing around with someone's lover, okay?"
"I know... it probably won't happen."
"What do you mean by-----"
“I’ll call Lloyd. If Kikka doesn't go back to work, It’ll be bad right."
Finn went upstairs, leaving behind meaningful words.
Kikka gave him a stern look at his back, but she gave up and returned to work with a sigh.
………………
…………
……
"And so! This is my partner, Lloyd-kun."
"Please don't call me jokingly like that...."
Finn introduced a man around the same age as Finn to Arthur and the others who had gathered in front of the Fleece inn.
Compared to the bright Finn, he has a much calmer atmosphere, and in addition to his neat appearance, you can feel the sense of cleanliness and sense in his appearance.
The two of them noticed that Arthur, who had an impression of an adventurer being more vulgar, was staring intently at them.
"What’s wrong?"
"Ah, no... how should I say it, you two are handsome and your clothes are stylish and very neat"
As Arthur said, he intended to send them a compliment without any kind of disrespect, but the two's expressions turned bitter.
"Arthur, you... it's the same with the Kikka just now, but how can you that stuff easily... huh?"
"I know you don't mean anything badly, but it wouldn't be strange if you said it as a sarcastic remark."
The two of them intended to give advice out of good intentions, but they quickly gave up when they saw that Arthur's face showed no sign of understanding.
Instead, when they looked at the women, each of them reacted differently than before.
Just like Arthur, Lelia and Rinka seemed unable to understand what they were saying.
Mei shrugs her shoulders and asks for their understanding.
Roa and others are looking at the clouds while yawning uninterestedly.
Until now, they had thought that the other members were following Arthur, who was a bit spontaneous, but it seems that was not the case.
(Are they all natural airheads? This party...)
Finn and Lloyd sympathized with Mei, who seemed to be the only one with common sense, and switched the subject.
"Ah~~... well, let's go to the guild for now."
The group started walking after Finn.
After introducing themself on the way, they started talking in a friendly manner.
"Are you two from this town?"
"Hmm? No, why did you think that?"
“Because you seemed to be very close to Kikka-san.”
"In regard to Kikka, well...should I say we mesh pretty well? That's how I feel. I'm from the north and I came to this city---It's been almost half a year already."
"It's nice and easy to spend time here I guess."
“Oh yeah, the security is good and the food is delicious.
"Is it true?"
"Arthur-kun and others may not know, but there are few monsters around here. So the jobs around here that can earn money are collecting plants and dealing with wild animals---"
"Well, both of them have specific expertise."
“Plants that can be used as medicine require specialized knowledge, so those are in the domain of pharmacists, and hunters are in charge of exterminating animals and hunting. But--"
“People who is more trustworthy get more work, a person who specializes in that also, sometimes there are those that did side job that mixed with thugs here and there, right? The key is the guild choose the right person to entrust mission."
The five people are surprised by the realities of unscrupulous adventurers told from their own experiences.
The image of an adventurer was that of a dream job where you could aim for a quick fortune on your own, but it seems the reality isn't so sweet.
"Then how do adventurers earn money?"
"It's just that jobs that pay well are often highly specialized, and that doesn't mean there aren't any jobs. I feel like I'm more of an errand worker than an adventurer."
“However, if you sell your face while doing such work and build up trust, you will be able to get the next job. I personally get work even in fields where I compete with my skill specialties.”
"A little while ago, Arthur complimented us on our appearance, didn't we?"
"yes"
“Even this is an important factor in gaining trust, you know? Adventurers run around the fields and deal with beasts and monsters, so no matter what they do, it’s easy to get dirty. If you say you don't like to get dirty, you can't do this job. Even so, you know who's more likely to be approached, a guy who looks dirty in front of other people, or a guy who cares about being as clean as possible, right?"
It might be rude to say that it was unexpected, but the five of us let out breaths of admiration at the surprisingly solid thinking of a young adventurer.
The straight gazes of the younger juniors made it difficult for the two to conclude their talk embarrassedly.
“Well, even if you trust me based on my appearance, it doesn’t mean anything if I can’t respond to that——Now see, over there is Hember’s Adventurer’s Guild.”
